Brela are located under the massive mountain Biokovo with the highest peak St. Jure (1762 m), away 50 km from Split, the city under UNESCO protection, and 15 km from Makarska.
Beautiful, clean and far known pebble beaches, clear blue sea and enjoying a rest in the shade of thick pine forests earned international awards for Brela, including the Blue Flag to the beach Rat from 1999, and to the beaches Berulia and Stomarica since 2004. It is interesting that the beach Rat ranked among the ten most beautiful beaches in the world according to Forbes magazine in 2004, the same year as the initiative 'Tourist flower' Brela declared the most beautiful tourist town on the Croatian Adriatic.
